About Us
Vizards Tweedie represents the amalgamation of two well established practices in Holborn with sympathetic backgrounds and clientele. Both firms can trace their origins well back in time and can boast associations with famous names in history. Vizard was established in 1797 when William Vizard founded his practice in Grays Inn. He acted for Queen Caroline during her divorce trial in 1820 and from those beginnings developed a thriving practice.
Tweedie & Prideaux dates back to the latter half of the 17th Century. Charles Dickens was employed as a clerk of the firm in 1828 and it is believed that some of his characters were based upon clients of the firm.
Building on this established basis of traditional legal practice and loyal clients, the current partnership of 17 partners looks forward to a bright future.
The firm builds on two centuries of experience in dealing with legal problems and Vizards Tweedie will continue to offer the same high level of service to its clients for many years to come.
Our range of legal services includes advice to the commercial and residential property sectors, the corporate world as well as employment advice and commercial litigation. In addition we are parliamentary agents and have a thriving private client practice including matrimonial solicitors.
Service Standard
We believe that quality of service is the cornerstone of our practice. We adhere to strict standards to ensure that quality of service is maintained throughout the firm. We were accredited to quality standard ISO9001 in March 2000. We are currently in the process of changing our practice standards from ISO9001 to Lexcel which is the Law Society's practice management quality mark specific to the legal profession. A copy of the Service standards adopted by the firm is available on requests.
We understand that clients want cost effective solutions to their legal problems delivered as swiftly as possible. We provide clear information about costs and timescale at the outset of every matter, together with out outline of the strategy.
We have strong partner led teams in each speciality to provide clients with the comfort on knowing they will always have excellent service. We allocate a partner to be responsible for each client. That partner is then the client's main point of contact in the transaction.
We encourage clients to liaise with that partner and to raise any concerns they may have with him or her. Where appropriate work may be allocated to more junior fee earners who will work in conjunction with the supervising partner.
Internal and external audits are regulary carried out as part of the Lexcell monitoring process.
