Collins pays £25 million divorce settlement
Date:
18 Aug 2008
Phil Collins has agreed to pay £25 million to his third wife as part of the UK''s biggest-ever divorce settlement, according to reports.
The former Genesis frontman, 57, made the payment to Swiss spouse of seven years Orianne Cevey, 35, the figure confirmed in the accounts of his personal management company.
It was the second large settlement for Mr Collins, who paid £17 million to second wife Jill Tavelman in 1994.
All together, the pop-star has now paid out around £42 million to his ex-wives, approaching a third of his estimated £140 million fortune.
The latest settlement sees Miss Cevey keep the couple''s Swiss mansion and custody of their two children, eight-year-old Nicholas and four-year-old Matthew.
Earlier this year, Sir Paul McCartney was ordered to pay £24.3 million to Heather Mills in their divorce settlement, but Phil Collins has now acquired the dubious tag of the UKs "biggest celebrity divorcee".
